Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Dosha?
What is a Dosha?
In Ayurveda, a Dosha is a natural energy pattern that
influences your body and mind. The three Doshas are Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.
They affect your digestion, sleep, skin, body structure,
energy, emotions, appetite, and daily habits.
How can knowing my Dosha help me?
How can knowing my Dosha help me?
Knowing your Dosha helps you understand what suits your body
and what may disturb your balance.
For example, your Dosha can guide your food choices, daily
routine, exercise, sleep habits, seasonal care, and self-care rituals.
Ayurveda does not follow a one-size-fits-all approach. It
helps you choose what is right for your unique constitution.
Can my Dosha change over time?
Can my Dosha change over time?
Your basic constitution, known as Prakriti, generally
remains the same throughout life.
However, your current state of imbalance, known as Vikriti,
can change due to age, season, stress, diet, sleep, travel, lifestyle, and
daily routine.
Is my personality linked to my Dosha?
Is my personality linked to my Dosha?
Yes, your Dosha can influence certain personality traits.
People with dominant Vata may be creative, energetic,
quick-thinking, and sensitive.
People with dominant Pitta may be focused, sharp, organised,
and goal-oriented.
People with dominant Kapha may be calm, steady, caring, and
patient.
However, your personality is shaped by many things,
including upbringing, environment, habits, and life experiences. Dosha gives
helpful insight, but it does not define you completely.
