Benefits of Mulethi/Yastimadhu/मुलेठी/Licorice/Liquorice/Glycyrrhiza Glabra

If you don’t want to chew mulethi sticks, you can mix ginger juice to mulethi tea in order to soothe asthma and bronchial infection.

The root of mulethi is very helpful in curing digestive problems like acid reflux, inflammation of the stomach, heartburn, acidity and constipation. It has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties which help reduce inflammation in the lining of the stomach.
Eases menopausal symptoms
The phytoestrogenic compounds in this herb help correct hormonal imbalance in the body to ease menopausal symptoms like hot flashes, insomnia, depression, mood swings, sweating etc.
Promotes healthy liver
An extracted form of mulethi has proven the ability to reduce and protect against liver diseases such as hepatitis C, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and jaundice. Additionally, it has anti-inflammatory properties which help soothe the liver during hepatitis. Mixing mulethi in a warm cup of tea twice a day for a couple of weeks can purify the liver and make it immune to diseases.
