The best thing about Indian street food is the variety you can choose from, and an ample variety of healthy food which is actually available in the street. You might think street food and that to healthy, the chaat, vada pav, rolls which are deeply fried how they can be healthy? Yes, we might sound insane to you, but yes, there are a variety of dishes which we consume is healthy. Let’s go around the streets for some healthy street foods you can enjoy.
Sweet Potato Chat
In winters, you will find a sweet potato chaat stall in every corner of the street. This Indian snack is loaded with Vitamin A, C, B, manganese, fiber, potassium and iron. Sweet Potato Chaat or shakarkandi is good for dieters who are up to lose weight. Shakarkandi is packed with 112 calories and with zero fat. So enjoy this chat with a sweet and sour flavour, loaded with nutrients.
Corn on the Cob
Another widely available snack ‘The Indian Bhutta’ can be enjoyed any time of the day. The corn cobs are roasted on a hot coal stove and then lemon juice, salt and spices are rubbed over it. Corn is low in calories, low in fat, and is full of carotenoids. Phytonutrients found in it, decrease the risk of cardiovascular diseases; so enjoy the traditional style Bhutto or steamed corn and reap the healthful benefits of it.

You can opt for the crisp plain paper dosa or add paneer, spinach, carrot or tofu filling to make it more nutritious. Dosas and idlis are served with hot and flavourful sambhar and chutney. Sambhar is packed with lentils and vegetables and the chutney is made of coconut.
Parathas
The staple Indian breakfast makes a great snack. This Indian snack is stuffed with vegetables like green peas, palak, methi, dill, cauliflower, potato, etc. You can customize your parathas with less oil and butter. So feast on these delicious parathas that are sustaining and wholesome.
